Handmade Bamboo Salt Soap (Charcoal)

I almost thought it was those agar-agar (gelatin) mooncake when I was presented this a dozen of this at Idoori!! How naive!! Must have been my tired mind not functioning well!!

There are many kinds of bamboo salt soap as you can see from above picture..

The one question that pop in my mind when I was being introduced to Bamboo Salt was…

“What’s so great about these Bamboo Salt soap man?”

Bamboo salt removes heavy metal and toxic materials from the body and provides mineral to the circulation systems. 9 times baked bamboo salt
Green tea
Coconut oil
Palm oil
Tocopherol
Vitamin E

If you had realized, which I think you should have, the top part of the soap is darker colour as compare to the base. The darker colour part is where the salt all gathers. It’s rough textured on top and smooth at the base.

The rough part works like a scrub to me.. It gently exfoliate my skin leaving it smooth yet squeaky clean!

After a few use, you can see the dark grey part is almost gone… The textured feel slowly gets milder and milder.. BUT that doesn’t mean that all for the salt!

If you look again INTO the soap, you will see bits of lil black dot inside the soap! That’s salt too – yes I had licked it, it’s salty but not as salty as the dark grey top part..!

And you thought this is only a face soap? NO. It’s a multipurpose soap! It’s good for body wash & hand wash too..! Although you don’t see lotsa foam formed but this is more than enough to give you that squeaky clean feel already.

I had been using this soap on my face for about 2 weeks (by the time you read this post, perhaps 3-4 weeks already) I’m glad to see my acnes reduced and skin feels smoother!

Kinda regret for not being patient enough to use this soap bar everyday in the initial stage because it was only after a while I realized my stubborn whiteheads/acnes are recovering..! If I had start using them more diligently when I got them then I would have solve my skin problem earlier!

I’m currently sharing the other half of the soap with my fiancé and he’s loving it too!! I would definitely recommend this soap for you guys to try! If you’re keen in other flavors, here’s a quick look for you!

After using for about a week, I agree this wash lotion is really gentle to skin! Even the fragrance is mild! I felt as if I had used some anti-bac body wash – the clean feeling is good and it is not drying!! Should have brought it with me for my vacation!!

July Trove – Midsummer Gala!

Seriously… I’m running out of idea on how-to-make-an-opening.. LOL “Hello everyone” “Hi readers”… what have i not used? *thinking*

Today, im gona share with you my July Trove box! Its a love & no love complex emotion!

So many things this month, i can even see makeup stuff in it! Bravo~! But where should i start now? Probably i’ll start with something that i had started using?

It’s Avancé Dou Demaquiillant Super – An instant remover design for resistant and waterproof eye make-up! Gentle to the eye while removing the waterproof eye makeup.
A formula that remove and at the same time gently moisture delicate eye area as it contain soothing and moisturizing ingredient, Chamomile flower extract and Trehalose.

Avancé is the pioneer for Eye Makeup and Eye Care in Japan. It was the FIRST to launch the Avancé “Mascara” with Lash Treatment and Waterproof technology to Japan in 1937.

Shake well before use, apply it on a cotton pad and wipe over the eyes gently for around 5 seconds. It can remove eyeshadow, eyebrow color and waterproof mascara effectively!

My opinion? I think this is by far the best eye makeup remover i had used. I recall that i had tried L’Oreal before but it is totally weak! Avancé made me goes WOW when im trying to remove my Maybelline’s gel liner! Gel liner user.. u know how difficult it is to remove gel liner, waterproof somemore! But with this baby, it doesn’t matter how stubborn your gel liner is, it will still melt away in no time!

I included a few pictures to show u how i remove my eyeliner using Avancé….

See my black black gel liner? It’s very difficult to remove even with BioDerm/Biore Jelly!

But what i did was to only placed my cotton pad (already soaked with reasonable amount of Avancé remover) over my eyelid for about 5 secs and i just gently swipe it across my eye and……

It’s more then half gone! I did not apply much pressure and its already half gone! This time with my unused side of cotton pad, i wipe it again and its’s near gone.. i think this is the most effective eye makeup remover i had used!

Buy again?? of course!!? it’s really good! On days that i put on heavy eye makeup, i can reply on this to clean up the mess at the end of the day! *thumbs up*

Next up, it’s Physiogel! I’ve got a travel size Physiogel Cleanser in my trove! This cleanser is a hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic soap-free cleanser that cleanses, soothes and softens without drying the skin. Neutrogena Hydro Boost again.. oh wait! This is water gel without the SPF! The one i got in previous trove is with SPF 15! I haven’t try the one with SPF but for this, i think im good with just the sample. I don’t like the sticky sensation when I’m applying the gel.. It’s not like you can stick anything to your face but it’s the tacky feeling that i don’t like. If you think it’s lightweight, i think Laneige moisturizer is even more lightweight. If you think it cooling, i think Laneige one is even better.. Conclusion, this is not my cup of tea..

Mask from Herborist! TBH, I have not heard of Herborist before.. so i did a little google search and found this…

Under certain angle, you will then see the Lipdrink’s shine.. Lip & Cheek Stain is still sheer pinkish color.. and i’m still wondering.. “how can it be a cheek stain this way??” I ignored my hand and continue with the photo taking of all my trove product.. about 15 mins later when i’m packing up….

I got a shock, the lip & cheek stain changed color!! Or rather the color turned darker! Now it is a cheek stain! hahahaa.. It looks very natural and not too drama.. I’m pretty impress.. Moving fwd, i might consider trying more of their product if they’re not too difficult to get..

Vichy is pretty hot in Singapore, been seeing the ads a lot on TV.. and now i can get my hands on it again (I think i had previously used their whitening sample – Bi-White Lotion? Can’t recall how is it but… if i can’t recall means it isn’t that fantastic?? You decide..)

I applied this after my moisturizer.. OK, i know what u are thinking.. this is already a (tinted) moisturizer why would i still use one?? actually i’m a little kiasu! i still think its better to complete my regular daily regimes and it makes me feel more protected too! To me, tinted moisturizer is more like a moisturized foundation. So, of cuz i would still use my moisturizer before foundation. But as compared to a foundation, this is less better in coverage. If you are looking for something with good coverage, this is not for u.

Back to what i did, i applied this, after my moisturizer, like a makeup base! then i tap on my bb cream (concealer) on spots and finish it off w my mineral loose powder. How do i look? MARVELLOUS of course!!! hahaha! i feel nothing too special when i first apply (application was really smooth and easy i must say!), in fact i din feel it was lightweight.. but after my makeup is almost set (i watched a bit of TV, before looking at the mirror again – need to make sure i look ok before stepping out of my house!! hahahah) i got a shock.. my complexion looks really … RADIANT & DEWY! i think i like this tinted moisturizer.. but if i need to buy it myself.. probably have to wait till the time is ripe! LOL~

September Trove – Fall In Love

I’m soooo sorry that i missed out this post!! My August Trove! This trove is quite useful for me in a way.. it’s all stuff that i will use.. 🙂

First.. Oilum body cleanser and lotion.. hahahaha!! u know wat? this body cleanser made mi cracked my head for days thinking… “This fragrance is soo familiar!! What is it????” strawberry?? NO! lavendar?? NO!! white musk?? NO!!! it was till the last drop and i went…. AHHH BANANA!!!!! It is BANANA!!! the sweetness of a ripe banana~!!

I din mean to say it smell horrible.. i mean banana is nice!! sweet.. made me a little hungry tho.. I haven try the lotion but i’m already looking fwd to use it..

Just one note.. item looks like an old stock~ label prints are like washed out.. 😦 i hope it is not..

Princess Pinki cream!!!!! wow! those who read my blog.. you knew i bought a Princess Pinki Trove some time ago in July.. and now i see this cream.. i was like.. WTH~!! If this is included in a regular trove then why should/would i spend my money on the limited edition one?!

True enuff that for a $25 trove its very joyous thing to rec’d a princess pinki but the thot of myself spending $40 on the limited edition made me goes crazy~!!! %^&*#$

Here.. another serum.. i think this can be found in Sasa.. haven use this yet.. guess will review it when i used it.

Eye Shadow~ well.. eye shadow is my forever nightmare~ i can nvr do my eyeshadow neatly nicely~!!! But still is is good to see some cosmetic in my trove!!

Wow~!! BB Cream.. my love~~ this is from Pure Beauty. i don’t think this bb cream have any sunblock effect as nothing like thst was stated in and out of the packaging.. i believe this is a full BB Cream and i plan to gift it out as Christmas gift to my friend! I cant bear to say goodbye to it but the fact that it has no SPF made me felt … “oh i still need extra sunblock care”.. pure laziness! >_<

Are all beauty surprise box gona do same thing every month?? they all include eyeshadow and nail polish in the same month~! but i muz say.. i prefer this color more than what i got in Bellabox!

This is a almost nude color with some duochrome effect~! very pretty.. its a good color for days when i want to go simple but let people notice i’m wearing polish~!

Next here is this sweet yummy mask!!! this mask is sooooo sweet and smell so yummy! i love this~! this brand is quite common and i think it has been around for quite some times already.

My skin feels clean and smooth after i washed off the mask.. definitely a mask that i will purchase again.. *thumbs up!*

It’s another pure beauty cream.. but this time it is not eye cream! this is a lotion!! haven use it tho but i believe it will smell as nice effect as good as the eye cream!

August Trove – Rocket Science

Ah ha! It’s time again for the once a month thingy!! Ah.. Don’t worry! It’s not menses time.. It’s Vanity Trove time!!!

This month’s trove was a bit late.. And with the courier service “mis-delivery” it’s even later.. What actually happen? Ah.. Long story.. But since u insist to know, I will share a bit! (hahahaha!!)

VT had announced (on FB) that trove will be late but will still be arriving bef Aug! I’m waiting with my neck longer than giraffe’s! And on 31st morning, while I was out in the morning, the courier came! Shucks!! Y no call me!?

I called courex back to arrange for re-delivery anytime that day as I’ll be home WHOLE DAY! But they said the earliest date for re-delivery is 2Aug! Man~~! At the same time I checked w them izit a norm that courier guy not calling bef delivery? And guess wat, they said only upon request then they will call bef delivery.. (thn wat’s e diff w this courier and Singpost Registered Mail??) So I decided to drop VT an email.. With VT’s reply I’m sure we think alike! Courex should call before delivery! That is the norm! What is Mr. Courex (i’m not mentioning name but I’m keeping the delivery notification w his name) doing?? Where is the good service courex USED TO have??

Sigh…..

Anyway, here’s my trove! Kinda weird to see a pack of sth taped outside the Trove.. Did they forgot to put it in or was it an extra due to the delay??

Plenty of fun stuff!!! Quite happy with this month’s trove as it doesn’t have facial foam, toner & moisturizer anymoreeee!! Yippie!!

Just tried the grape seed extract.. WAH !! I feel as if I will hv diabetic on the spot! Hahahah!! So sweet so thick!! But the aftertaste is so yummy! Hahaha… A lil sourish but not to the extend u will goes >_

Here is the apple of my eye!! This shower gel smell sooooooo nice! It made mi feel like I’m showering in some 5 stars hotel!!! I used it this morning and I can still sense the fragrance lingering around mi when I’m in office for almost half a day already!! If it is cost effective, I might consider getting a regular size!?? Hiak hiak hiak!!! Heartz!!

Next next!! Eye therapy mask~ planned to try it tmr… Shall update over the weekend!! ^^V

UPDATE on 11 August 2012: here’s my very late update!! finally got my chance to use this eye mask last weeeek..!

Generous serum in a pack.. might not see it in my pic.. but its really der, just that the angle i took my pic is… ya BAD!

The mask.. It’s a one whole pcs thingy!! now even the neglected area get some nourish!! hahaha.. i’m not sure to say its good or it’s bad..

Good because i feel less tired aft the masking session. i dono izit because i just took a power nap of 10mins or because it really makes mi feel better.. HAHA! & bad because other than that i don’t feel anything special..

Probably other type of mask may be better for mi.. geez~!

This is Majorlica Majorca Eye Reset gel a.k.a. eye makeup remover.. this is good.. almost works the same like my Biore Jelly makeup remover. Just that this is specially for eye area.

Just a little bit like this, smaller then 10c coin, i can remove my eyeliner (waterproof gel liner from Kate)..

Here.. see.. my eyeliner is gone without much effort.. Its a good eye makeup remover IMO. but since i already have my Biore jelly makeup remover, which can remove waterproof eye makeup too, i don’t see a point in why should i purchase this. But if u are those who needs specifically EYE makeup removal, i will recommend you to get it.. It’s quick and easy!

(like how the Pore-fect face scrub works, so cooling refreshing till u wakes up!).. but it did not.. this face wash feels quite mild.. and the .. the… the liquid? the soap? the fluid? the gel? the watever u call it.. is very pretty.. it’s pearl white with microshimmer-like thingy.. feel as if after ur face wash, ur face will turned into a big pearl (but obviously it did not!)..

If you asked me, i will prefer the face scrub then this face wash.. this is a so-so kinda product only.. the Pore-fect Face Srub amazed mi more.. 😀

Sleep it off Night Cream.. and i really slp it off.. this night cream was given higher rating then the day cream.. so i decided to give it a try.. well… if u asked for my first thot after using, i will tell u.. i dun like it. but if u ask mi 2nd thot aft i woke up this morning, i will say differently!

Cream in the bottle feels a bit.. not running..? i think i can turn the bottle (open) up side down and the cream will not have any movement..! about 1-2 mins after i applied this cream, i start to feel oily.. keep wanting to wipe off the oil on my face.. feel as if it will cause MORE outbreak than wat i alr have!!! but wanted to really see the effect i decided to quickly SLEEP IT OFF! LOL!! & this morning, i wake up my skin feel supple.. it’s not oily at all.. ok, for mi i would usually wake up with oily skin.. but this morning, i wake up with smooth smooth skin! is this my imagination?? i will use it again tonite! argg… just gona pull through the initial oily sensation!! Not sure if u can recall.. Organix was one of the brand i’d got in Mar Glamabox (last Glamabox too).. That time was a Moroccan Argen Oil Shampoo (click here & here to see posts).. And after using that shampoo, i grew interest in Sulfate Free products and went on to buy other type of Organix Shampoo (click here to see post). And now that i see their facial wash product.. how would i possibly missed it!!? especially at the time when i have most outbreak (which was about a month ago – purchase this trial kit quite some times back.) The facial wash was alright.. the toner was the interesting one.. spearmint.. can u image spearmint on your face?? YES! so cool and tingy if u happen to have a open wound (like fresh acne scar).. but quite refreshing i must say.. however, somehow i still feel quite oily after using this.. probably after i finish using this trial kit, i will not purchase again..
