My stash of… Lipcolors (2016)

YEH! I’m writing again! I’ve haven’t been sharing much on makeup product this year isn’t it, especially lip color!

I’ve been kinda into lip color (again) lately but the thing is I usually put them on only in the morning. I don’t do touch up, I don’t bring them out.. LOL! Anyway, that’s beside the point. Nice color must still be shared!

And so… here are the latest collection I have.. Enough to create different look for 2 weeks!! *pout*

Today post, I will only be sharing with my favorite few out of this 12 sticks!

Let’s start with something new ..

MAYBELLINE – LIP FLUSH BITTEN LIPS LIPSTICK (RD02)

Maybelline – this is definitely not my first gradient lip stick! My first was from VDL. It was pretty sheer and girls who love natural look wold probably love it (you can check it out from HERE).

I thought this would be the same too until i tried the tester at Watson’s and I’m like .. “Wow, quite pigmented as compared to VDL triple shot!” Not only that, it’s pretty easy to glide on and it can cover my dry chapped lips!

Did I mention, it smells sweet too!

LOREAL – BLOSSOM TINT CARESSE (B06 Rose Blossom)

This cushion tint gives a velvety finish on its own and works great too when used with other lip color! I just love how the cushion can help to create gradient lips so easily and NO MESS at all!

And if you didn’t know yet, this tint can be a blusher and eye shadow too!

Below image shows u the different look it can give.. Yes, all using the same stick!

Well I’ve tried to do some laying of the color and I think they looks great!!

Top image is my Maybelline’s bitten lips and bottom is layed with Loreal’s tint caresse.

Chio (pretty) right? LOL.. I like how the laying works! The way it gives a playful yet not too drama look! And it’s not the boring monotone color! So 3D!

I’ve tried them on my hands to show u a more accurate color tone of my bitten lips (it seems more pink on lips in those photos).. It’s suppose to be more red though..

I’m definitely getting other colors to my collection!

Next, I’m sharing with you some collection I’ve got from VDL! It’s not triple shot but something that caught my eyes too!

VDL – Pantone Expert Color Lip Cube Tranquility – 01 Serenity

I won’t exactly say this is a lip color because it doesn’t really give you pink/red/violet color on your lips. Instead it works more like a (sheer) lip balm/ lip base.

You applied it on your lips (clear) and just wait few sec you’ll see it turned sheer pink!

IMO, this wasn’t as good as Son & Park Sugar Tint but I love how the blue and pink marble effect the lipstick look! #socool!

Taking another VDL color that I have (105 Pink Positive) I layer it on top of my Serenity!

Such elegant color not only looks beautiful, it gives SPF protection and moisturized your lips too!

If you have realized, my VDL lipstick all comes in a cube top! This is not found in other competitors product yet! So what’s so good about the cubic edge? It actually helps your draw a more accurate/define cupid bow – easier to achieve one too!!

Next up, my happiest purchase!!

URBAN DECAY – MATTE REVOLUTION (1993)

Bought this during a sale event and until now I can’t get over the excitement!!

As the name suggest, it’s a matte lip color. But you can see it’s not those drying matte color. It still give a lil natural shine and cover my chapped lips well! All this thanks to it’s creamy non drying formula!

Another beauty of this lippie is that it can gives you different look depending on how many layers you apply and how you do it!

From a natural to a rocker! LOL.. For use who prefer lighter tone, you can achieve with 1993 too! Just lightly dap it on your lips and blend them!

Seriously, everyday different look is achievable from these different lippie!!! Try changing a color today!!

My All Time Favourite – Makeup Stash!

POST of the year!! A compilation of my favourite makeup product here!

What can get me excited? Anything NEW..!!! I remember when I was a kid, I always wanted to go home after I got my toy!! That’s why my mom always put my “shopping session” last.. 😥 Now that I’ve grown up, this habit never change.. It just got improvised! Instead of wanting to go home to open up my toy immediately, I opened them up when I got a chance to!! Like, when we’re sitting down for dinner or while waiting to bus/train?? But of course this time, it ain’t children’s toy anymore.. It’s my beauty products..

I’ve always love to try new things!! Eyeliner.. BB cream/foundation.. Blusher.. Lip color.. As long as it’s new it’s worth a try until you know it’s not. LOL! So after trying several products, below are the few that becomes the apple of my eye.. ❤

Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control

What I like about it: Gives a dewy look & made my complexion looks really brightened!

What I don’t like about it: It can’t withstand the humid weather in Singapore and I look really CUI (ugly – makeup turned cakey over the forehead/nose/chin) by the time I reached office.

Remedy: Use it only on non-working day, like going on a date? *heartz*

Ettusais BB Cream

(suppose to be pink tube, not this white one)

What I like about it: Matt look that last! Good oil control and give pretty decent coverage!

What I don’t like about it: Probably not the latest technology already..

Remedy: They gonna improvised it?

Covermark Creamy Liquid Foundation

What I like about it: It cover marks and look very natural! Thin layer of foundation is all you need to flawless good skin look! Another point worth mentioning, this foundation sure can withstand hot sun! I wear it to work everyday and still looks good end of the day! FYI, my journey to office is often exhuasting~ T_T Up the slope.. Long walk.. Hot sun.. Yes, regular BB cream will just melt and make me look disgusting but this creamy liquid foundation stay totally cool!!

What I don’t like about it: Not at this moment..

SKII Cream Foundation

What I like about it: You just need a lil dot to look flawless and a lil more on pigment are for excellent coverage..! Not only I look good almost the whole day with this foundation, my T-zone are well controlled (in terms of oiliness) too!! *whistle*

What I don’t like about it: The way this foundation is packed, I feel it’s not very hygienic and quality of the foundation may be affected as we open and close the lid too many time. 😦 Plus, it’s SUPER expensive loh..

Remedy: Hygiene wise, use a spatula? Cost wise, save up to buy..!! It’s worth the cents!

Marc Jacob Skyliner

What I like about it: Smooth application, opaque color, super long lasting & doesn’t smudge! Click HERE to read more about it.

What I don’t like about it: Expensive, perhaps? S$36 for one regular size skyliner.

Remedy: Save up before splurging? LOL

Holika Holika Jewel-light waterproof Eyeliner

What I like about it: Smooth application, opaque color and comes in many color too!

What I don’t like about it: Price are kinda costly if you are going to purchase them in retail store/counter. Some might not like the fact that it needs a sharpener (but I’m fine with this..)

Remedy: Purchase online! =X Qoo10 latest promo 2 for S$8.85 (or something!!) Sharpener cost less than a dollar..

VDL Triple Shot Tintbar

What I like about it: When you say convenient.. Nothing beats this!! Three tone in one!! Ombre/Gradient lips in a sec!

What I don’t like about it: Not very long lasting and colour is a bit sheer.

Remedy: Good to use this if you want a natural gradient lip color.

Peri Pera Tint Glow Stick

What I like about it: Nice bright color that’s not too exaggerating! Healthy glow.. and LASTING~ LOOONG LASTING…

What I don’t like about it: Breaks TOO EASILY!!! Broken when I first used it. Lucky I didn’t throw away..

Remedy: Hell I have no idea!

Canmake

What I like about it: Has different tone of color in a palette and it has shimmers! This will brighten your look and make you look more cheery.

What I don’t like about it: I will let you know when I find out..

After a LOOONG wait! Here comes the post on my stash of lip colors!!! Some of my favorites are listed tooo!! Man! Can’t wait to share with you!!!

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint! ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿ – #02 Cherry Pink

Type: Tint

What I like: Natural and pinkish shade on my lips!

What I don’t like: If i have to say one, its probably gonna be the color is too light?

How it look: As you can see, the color is pretty sweet! Sweet pink! It’s quite runny (that’ how a lip tint suppose to be!) and sheer!

See how natural it blends and doesn’t looks drama! It feels like applying water on your lips, color water perhaps? Hahaha! I actually did a post on this lip tint before because it performed better than expected!

Next up is my first ever RED lip color!! Seriously RED!!

Shiseido Lacquer Rouge ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿

Type: Lacquer Rouge

What I like: Super sexy! I like how the red has that bit of gold shimmer that enhance the whole lip color.

What I don’t like: I don’t know.. perhaps the color is too opaque I have to be careful every min..??

How it look: SEXY!!!! hahahah!! I’m not touching details on this as you can read it from my previous post here

But I’m more than glad to show you how the color looks like on my lips!! 😉

Definitely a great color to use for party and prom!

Bobbi Brown ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿

Type: Lip gloss

What I like: Nude shade and it has shimmer!

What i don’t like: It gives my allergy!!!!

How it looks: This is a nude color and it’s glossy nude with a little shimmer. It looks much darker (browner) in the bottle. When applied, the color lightens.

Ok, here comes my favourite!! *excited*

M.A.C Lipstick ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿

Type: Lipstick

What I like: I thought I will never understand why people will go crazy for M.A.C until my first application of this lip color! It’s smooth! It’s lasting! It’s simply worth every cents it cost! All it takes is just one stroke and you will fall in love with this precious darling and (yes!) it’s one of my favorite now!

This is a limited edition color – neutral beige of Naked Proof Cremesheen Lipstick – one of the lipstick from Illustrated by Rebecca Moses Collection (Lip Bag by Rebecca Moses: Nude x3)

What I don’t like: NOTHING!

How it look: Looks really natural yet not boring! The nude is slightly brown-peachy tone and it can cover the darkened area on my lips (due to chapping) without looking too gross! Girls who doesn’t like glossy look or pink shade probably will love this (at least I do..)! Though it’s not glossy, it is not matte finish either.. That’s another reason why I love it!!

On days when I’m on my casual style, this is definitely my must-wear!!

M.A.C Tinted Lipglass ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿

Type: Lip gloss

What I like: Smooth application and color is really cheery!!

A unique lip gloss available in a wide variety of colours that can create a high gloss, glass-like finish or a subtle sheen. Designed to be worn on its own, over Lip Pencil or Lipstick, Tinted Lipglass is the perfect product for creating shine that lasts. It’s pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic colour. This is another limited edition color – Drawn To Chic from Illustrated by Rebecca Moses Collection (Lip Bag by Rebecca Moses: Nude x3)! Ehem!! Also another favorite of mine!!!

What I don’t like: It feels a lil sticky when applied but after a while, you’ll get used to it.

How it look: Obviously this is not nude!! It looks so HOT PINK in the tube but was lighter when applying on lips! This color brightens you up (kinda makes u look fairer, IMO), makes you look bold yet feminine!

If you are a glossy girl,. you will love how this lipglass shines on your lips!

Not that I wanna repeat this but it’s like I finally understand why M.A.C is so well-loved by girls of all age!! Like OPI, you will never understand why people love it so much until you try it once!! …..and get hooked on it. T_T

Laneige Snow Crystal Pure Lipgloss ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿ LR107 Veil Rose

Type: Lip gloss

What I like: Color is light and sweet. It is scented lip gloss and shimmers~!!

What I don’t like: Not as lasting as I thought..

How it look: It’s pretty sheer (more low profile) as compared to M.A.C’s color but they have this light fragrance that M.A.C doesn’t have. That explain why it was one of my favorite nude color before I receive my Christmas gift (Lip Bag by Rebecca Moses: Nude x3)!! 😉

If you want highly pigmented color, this is definitely not for you! However, if what you want is just a little shine on your lips then get this!

Laneige Snow Crystal Pure Lipgloss ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿ LR09 Cherry Pink

Type: Lip gloss

What I like: This is slightly more pigmented as compared to the previous color. SLIGHTLY only! LOL…

How it look: Pinkier lips as compared to Veil Rose and I think it looks sweet too! I prefer this color over Veil Rose because the color is more visible! I mean, that’s is why you put on a lipstick/lipcolor right?? Else a lip balm or lip gloss will just do the trick (this doesn’t include nude color)!

VDL Tintbar Triple Shot ✿◕ ‿ ◕✿

Type: Tint Bar

What I like: I totally love the idea of this triple shot tintbar!! It can create a gradient lip color in juz one lipstick!! Yesh, now there’s no need for me to bring around so many lip color to create those gradient lip look! And you don’t need special technique to put this color on!!! They are not only look amazing on your lips, they are very moisturizing too!! They feel like lip balm on your lips and it’s not sticky too!!!

What I don’t like: Not many color options

How it look: I’m gonna show you the first color I put in my shopping basket…. Btw, the price I got them during the sale was 1 for S$2X (can’t remember) and 2 for S$40! So of cuz, woman’s instinct (!!!), grab TWO!! I think the original price was $28 for one. Correct me if I’m wrong… Ok, back to the color that I wanna show u!

601 Triple Peach

This is more to an orange tone lip color. Natural yet not boring (because of the gradient effect!!)

Totally in love with it!! If you’re a light color person, I think you should keep one of this in your stash! It’s gonna enhance your lips sooo much!!

And the next color is ….

502 Triple Bergundy

Before I apply I thought I’m gonna have some brown dracula-like lips! Because the dark color look so brownish!!! However the sales person promised that it’s actually a pink tone then i tried it on my hand… True enough… It’s pink!!!

As compare to the Triple Peach, this color is more playful and feminine! The gradient is more visible too!

Side track a bit! I think another name for gradient lips is called ombre/bitten lips, some even call it Korean lips! Just google and you can see a list of tutorial teaching you how to create gradient lips! But now, with VDL’s Tintbar Triple Shots, all I need to do is apply this lipstick per normal! The only “technique” I need to know is how to hold the lipstick right so that you get the darker colors on your inner lips! Not too tough right?? LOLX!!

I’m so happy I found this!! I believe very soon other brands will come out with something similar (or even better)! Here’s one more pic to show you the difference in color between them, on my hand..

Update on 28 Jun 2014: Can’t resist this awesome concept, I bought a new COLOR on Qoo10!!! Yeahhh~!!

501 Triple Red

I thought it will be dramatic red.. But fortunately they’re pretty sheer hence won’t be too shocking to put them on..

They actually looks pretty natural right? It’s slightly lighter than Triple Burgundy yet color still visible and sweet.. 🙂

Well, no lips are not suitable for colors, you just have to take good care of them! How I do it? Easy!!

Drink more water – it will make your lips supple.
Do your weekly lip scrub – to exfoliate dead skin.
Apply lip balm before sleep – it’s the BEST time to heal chapped lips. With a good lip balm, you can see improvement overnight!
Don’t peel your chapped lips – you will make it worst!
Do not use your tongue (saliva) to lick your lips just because your feel they are dry – your are making it even drier by doing that!!

Keep to this 5 points and very soon, your lips will look sexy and healthy!

Korean Beauty Sale

Pocket ended with holes holes holes after I went to the Korea Beauty Sale at Marriott recently. What is available there? Mainly The Face Shop, Belif and VDL! Many out there should be familiar with all these brands but what interest me most is VDL! I’ve always wanted to try something from VDL but not too sure want I wanted until that day!

I did not buy a whole lorry of products but this is enough to make me go on diet for this month – there are many other sale coming up (Kanebo Seasonal Sale on 10th & 11th April)!!

Basically I bought what I needed.. A face scrub (TFS)! A few gel mask (TFS) after very little persuasion! The sales lady said it’s good to apply a mask after the scrub (it’s not exactly those rough particle scrub but liquid gel kind that turns into eraser-like particle after some massage, it’s quite good – really! I will show you guys again soon!)

Seriously, I’m only looking for a face scrub BUT I ended up with additional mask, nail polish, tint bar & blush!!
