Travelogue: Australia Gold Coast (Day 7)

Although I can’t wait to share with you my experience in Gold Coast Sea World but I just have to tell you… If you haven’t read my previous post, I think you should!!

  • Day 1 – Melbourne (Touch down)
  • Day 2 – Melbourne (Queen Victoria Market/South Wharf)
  • Day 3 – Melbourne (Great Ocean Road)
  • Day 4 – Melbourne (Catch up/Shopping)
  • Day 5 – Gold Coast (Surfer Paradise)
  • Day 6 – Gold Coast (Movie World)

Today is the last (full) day I have in Gold Coast!

And as usual, we woke up early to start our day! Good thing about staying in Sea World Resort, you do NOT need to drive/travel long journey out of your hotel!!

To start of the day, we were brought to this lil area to watch the dolphin show..

If you asked me, they’re great! But if you’re not a morning person, you can totally skip this.. No particular WOW moments but this dolphins were beautiful!!

By the time we’re done with the show, the park is still EMPTY.. LOL! YES, we were very EARLY!!

So what else to do? Walk around while it’s still empty!!

Actually we didn’t take a lot of pictures .. If you ask me, I thought our SEA Aquarium is slightly better..

I love the show though! They’re funny and how nice to have interaction with viewer!!

And of course after the show, most of the attractions are open and that includes FOOD KIOSK!!!! We had Domino Pizza and sandwich from some random kiosk!

Well, pizza is just so-so but sandwiches in Australia taste so good!!! Flavourful and fresh!!! Even my mama who’s not a sandwich lover said it’s nice!!

Well, As the park close at 4pm.. we chop chop waste no time and hop into the monorail and head to our next stop!

While in the monorail, I managed to capture below image! I don’t know about you but I think this pic looks stunning! Of course, it’s filtered!

Once we reached our stop, we head to take this log ride (Viking Revenge Flume)~ We probably took this twice or thrice…! It’s really fun & the reason it’s fun is because of the great companion!! Mama was so sporting and agreed to join us play this!!

And warning! If you saw Jet Rescue Ride and thought it’s some manageable/mild ride because it the track seems all so low, NO NO! BIG NO… It’s super intense!! We nearly FLEW OUTTA our seat!!! It zoom at a speed of 70km/hr!!! Seriously you dun even have a chance to see your surrounding!! Click HERE to see it yourself!!

After all the rides, we head to the next jet ski show.. hmm.. If you ask me, I think it totally alright to skip this show (although we did stay through out)..After the show ended, we went to the nearby souvenir shop to grab some gift for our family and friends!

After this show, we didn’t stay around for too long and left the park.. We took the monorail again to head back to the hotel station! Just before the train arrive, I took some pic for mama since she wore her ONYXE bracelet out! Erm.. Focus on the bracelet actually! HAHA!!

img_9224

Got this from ONYXE for quite some time already and it’s still looking good and great!!

img_8988

And who can miss a last wefie before exiting the park!!!! We’ll be back (I think!)

We head back to hotel to unload our stuff and head out (to Surfer Paradise) for a good dinner!

HERE WE ARE!!! HURRICANE’S GRILL!! Highly recommended by a friend who has been in Australia for the past 6 years!!!

We ordered steak/chicken wings/rib/calamari!! Portion is big and taste heavenly!! If you ever have the chance, TRY IT!!! You won’t regret! Four satisfied customer leaving the restaurant!!

Did I mention, service here is good too!!! They even helped my mama with her bib – and LOOK AT THE RIB!!! BTW, this is only HALF RIB!! All our jaw dropped when we saw the portion! >_<

And to end a great night, we have to end it with a nice dessert!!!

Movenpick ice cream!! Girls always have space for dessert!! HAHAHA!!!

And a last wefie before we end our day to have a good night rest!

To the airport the next day!!! BYE BYE AUSTRALIA!!!

Travelogue: Australia Gold Coast (Day 6)

Mommy feeling good i suppose? Waking up early to enjoy the harbour view! LOL!

If you have plan to visit the park, i suggest you do a lil homework.. I believe from time to time, the park will have online ticket promo.. That time we purchased the annual ticket! Not that we are filthy rich and always coming back but because if 4 person is going to the park, we can make use of the “Buy 3 annual pass and get 1 annual pass free” promo! So in the end, getting the annual pax is cheaper then getting a day pass!!

And true enough, we didn’t have any plans to go again until I get married!!

img_8439 img_8443

The park opens at 9.30am and rides at 10am.. BUT there’s aready long queue before 9.30am!!!

img_8707-1

We just can’t let go of anything chance to take any “WE WERE HERE” photos!!

It’s totally a good time to visit the theme park during cold season! You’re like never gonna perspire no matter how hard you play, no matter how scorching hot the sun is!

img_8713 img_8711img_8710 img_8709-1img_8565

We were like super enthusiastic, running around hunting for characters to take picture!!

Of course, park rides were also part of the itinerary!!

First ride, Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster! LOL~ Totally thrilling first ride that got all our brain cells excited!

Super love this shot and those who know me will know why! I COVERED my double chin WELL!!!

Another favorite shot, The Mama(s).

Carousell and Mum – every kids favorite!

GC - MW

I love the above picture too but the full size image is not very flattering hence I grabbed from my instagram! If you like, you can click on above image to check out my other IG post!!

If you’re THRILL RIDE person, I think you shouldn’t miss this Arkham Asylum Ride and the Green Lantern ride !

img_8508

img_8519

Green lantern was close for maintenance hence no queue! to avoid disappointment, it’s better to check out the maintenance schedule from the park site (HERE)!

  img_8541

Other than all the rides, we were merely posing around in the park and waiting for the street parade!

img_8708-1 img_8712-1img_8719-1

OK OK!!! 3:30pm!!! All Star Parade~~~ YEAH!!!!

Shortly after the parade, we left the park. You must be thinking, WHY SO EARLY??

The park ain’t really that big actually! Probably without kids could be another reason. If you have kids coming with you, the children park is definitely bigger than USS!

So say BYE BYE to park, for now!!

BEFORE WE END THIS POST, LET ME GIVE YOU A MUST-READ-TIPS!

What’s the most headache thing when it comes to travelling? COST SAVING, isn’t it??

We want cheap air fare, we want cheap accommodation, we want cheaper rate to everything we can get! See, I even bought annual park ticket to save!!

To get cheap air fare, plan your trip early. When I say early, I mean 6-8 months AHEAD, not 1-2 months.. When you plan early, lower class economy seats are definitely available – ta-daa~ you get cheaper rate! Plan for two-to-go, wait for promo.. this helps!

To get cheap accommodation, spend all your time going from site to site to compare price? N-O-! Time is money, remember?? Just go to one site and let it do your work!

HotelsCombined.com.sg!

Even when you’re always on the go, fret not! They have mobile app!! A few tap and you can get the best deal at your preferred hotel!

hotelscombined1

This site is even smart enough to tell you the occupancy rate and suggest alternative dates..  Talking about saving money AND time! *wink*

So what are you waiting for?? Start planning your year end vacation now!!!

Stay tune for my next post about my day at SEA WORLD!!!

Travelogue: Australia Gold Coast (Day 5)

“Goodbye~ I know its time we gonna say goodbye~”

Early in the morning, we called a maxicab from hotel lobby and head to the airport! It’s literally EARLY because the sky is still dark!

 img_8249

About (maybe) less than an hour, we’re at the airport and managed to catch a glimpse of sunrise~!!! Can’t remember if we had our breakfast, but I know it was a pretty cold morning that day!! But again, NOTHING can FREEZE our excitement to go GOLD COAST!

Side note: Sun is beautiful here in Australia! I love sunny day here in winter season!

YES, our next destination…… GOLD COAST~!!

img_8261

*waiting to board out plane*

tick tock tick tok~~~ *fairy dust everywhere*

HERE we are in GOLD COAST!!

img_8315

Yup, we went to the carpark and pick up our rented car and head str8 to……

Seaworld Dr, Main Beach QLD 4217, Australia!! SEAWORLD RESORT!!

img_8365 img_8328

I must say, the traffic is really smooth here and great drivers great people around!!!

And now that we’re checked in, let me show you the room…

img_8330 img_8336 img_8342 img_8345 img_8344 img_8359

Room isn’t as BIG as our Melbourne apartment (this is all we could afford – seriously! A cozy deluxe room~) But they have awesome view!!

img_8346 img_8354

Just look at the children’s playground!! Oh man!! I’m sure gonna bring my kids here (during winter!)!! MOMMY LOVES WINTER~

img_8361 img_8362

Okay, enough of views and selfie!! Let’s start our first day in Gold Coast now!

But save the best for last!! We’re not going to Seaworld/Movie World YET!! We’re going gonna get ourselves familiarize with the area first… which means… SHOPPING!!

img_8368

We’re now on the road again and LOOK AT THE BEACH!!!!! Panoramic view for the lifeguard!!!!

If you’re wondering where were we going…? We were on the way to Surfers Paradise! Isn’t it a must-go place? LOL.. Plus there’s a beach market happening every Wed/Sun evening..

Yes it’s WEDNESDAY the day we arrive!!! HURRAYYYY!

Upon reaching Surfer’s Paradise, we were trying to find a lot… but realize we don’t understand the signage here! -___-  Couldn’t do a thing… we head over to mall’s carpark..

We didn’t do much here except shopping and eating! Not forgetting taking a good PHOTO to show people that WE ARE HERE!!

img_8401

Not my most flattering photo but IT’S OKAY!! It can be compensated by a good ice cream later!!!!

Having ice cream during winter season is probably the next best thing that one could have done! I JUST LOVE IT!

Nice cold ice cream and not-very-crowded street..

… until this caught my attention! I have no idea what plant is this.. but it looks funny to me.. hmm. how rude but nevermind that. I think Lunch is more important!!!

And we found this lil cafe selling mostly western/asian food (acceptable for our moms)..! Not very fantastic but not the worst I guess..

And indeed.. fish and chip is good here! If you ever come to Gold Coast, just pop by any western restaurant and order a plate of fish & chips!

img_8433

After dinner, we walk along the beach and enjoy the sea breeze (OH by the way, it ain’t so cold here in Cold Coast, so u can actually bring less heat pack/less layering..) and saw Silver Steve!

He really just “sat” there for hours.. more like Silver “Stiff”… XD LOL! Good job!

Yes, about 5-6pm… most stalls are open and it gets really crowded as the night gets darker!! Most items are handy craft, nougats, handy crafts.. LOL Hence we didn’t really buy a lot..

Can’t remember what time is it already but the beach is getting crowded as the clock ticks..

Very soon, we had enough here and went back to our resort for an early rest!

Yes, The Moms wana do laundry again! HAHAHA!

img_8294

REALLY!! If you have kids, you should just bring them here at least once!!! They would love this water playground!!! BTW, it’s Spongebob Squarepants at that corner where the colorful lights are.

img_8425

The show ended shortly after we reached our room – no chance to take more picture!!

Ended a relaxing day in preparation for the next two most anticipated day!!

Stay tune!!

Travelogue: Australia Melbourne (Day 4)

Basically Day 4 was a pretty laid day day for us.. Nothing much was plan but just revisit Queen Victoria’s Market and some simple shopping around town just to make sure we didn’t miss anything.

Like other days, we woke up early on this day too! We were out at QVM for hunt for breakfast at about 7-7:30am..

Mommy order a bowl of fishball noodle from the food court and we say its prolly just so-so.. But the ham was delicious (and BIG)!

 IMG_8170

Who could possibly missed another round of oyster since we’re already here!!! Fresh and yummy!! I think I paid about AUD15 for a dozen like this!

Oyster was one of the many reason I came to Australia..! Fresh and affordable!

Can’t remember who bought this donut balls back but I definitely remember this bratwurst bun is heavenly good!!! If you ever go to the Deli section in QVM, go look for it!! It’s a corner stall.. Prolly AUD6 for one??

To end our breakfast, we had desserts too!! Macaroons & cookies! I’m amazed how organized the QVM is and totally blown off by the cleanliness in the market!

I would definitely recommend QVM to travelers who are planning to visit Melbourne, especially for the first time!! You will hate to miss this place!

After our breakfast, we went to shop around and realize one thing….. the shops we see on Sunday weren’t here anymore on Tuesday!! OMG! LOL.. So travelers, if you plan to go QVM, try to plan this for 2 days trip and don’t hesitate to buy if you like something! Because it might not be there anymore if you come back another day!

Seeee!! you don’t see the mussels truck anymore right?? 😦 Below was Sunday’s QVM view from our room.. Look at the crowd..

IMG_7636

Oh and, if you’re not aware, QVM has Wed-night market too! Yes, we missed that. T_T

After the whole morning in QVM, we went back to our apartment to rest and head out to town for shopping! We haven’t really do shopping mall shopping yet!! This is the last chance to shop before we leave Melbourne!!

And here we are in Elizabeth St!!!

Since it’s just shopping, we didn’t take much street photo! But I am totally speechless with H&M in Australia! BIG, beautiful and spacious!! It’s just amazing!!

I guess there nothing much to share about shopping (we didn’t buy many things from those shops too)…

But do look forward to upcoming post because they are one of the reason why we’re in AUSTRALIA (yes, another reason!)!!!!! WOOHOOOOO~!!!

Good night dudes!!

Travelogue: Australia Melbourne (Day 3)

Yes!! Finally time for some update again!!

Day 3 of my Australia trip, we went to the GREAT OCEAN ROAD!! It was a 1-day Great Ocean Road tour by Go West. We booked this tour (via Experience OZ+NZ) while still in Singapore. It’s one of the most cost effective and most positive review guided tour! So wait no more and book la!! Plus if you wana see 12 Apostle, go visit it soon! Don’t wait till its gone~ lol, back to our trip!

Tour bus will pick us up at our hotel lobby early in the morning, ie: 7:50am! Can u imagine we had to wake up at 4:30am local time to get ready for this tour!!? It’s like 1:30am in Singapore!?? OMG KILL ME! (>__<)

(When you made the online booking, there’s a remark fill where you can type in your hotel details and they will plan their route to pick u up and drop you off..)

How can we missed the chance for another wefie – our obviously haven’t really wake up look!

We were greeted by our tour guide and verified our details before we hopped onto our AWESOME BUS!

Our first stop.. TORQUAY!!

A place where there’s full of surf board!

And yummy cakes prepared by our tour guide!!

Btw, we were lucky to have two guide on this day! Usually it’s only one guide who’s also the driver. Yes, tour guide cum driver.. Talking and driving~ Driving and talking~

So here we are, enjoying the scene and light breakfast. All these are like warm up before we start our looong journey!

Although this is a quiet town, but the beach and scenery is…… Oh man! I wish I’m there now!

I’m glad I went during winter! At least no matter how hot the sun, I’m like never gonna perspire!!

I seriously regret not doing this post earlier because by now I already forgotten most names of the place of interest!

But still I wanna share the above picture with you because I find the house pretty interesting! A house sitting on a column! If I didn’t remember wrongly, this wasn’t how it was built initially.

It was after a major fire at Great Ocean Road and this house survived it looking like this. Hence architect probably strengthen the foundation or what.. (Okie, I can’t recall what happen after the fire actually. Shouldn’t be too far from what I said hopefully~ *finger crossed*)

Here we are!! Great Ocean Road… STARTING POINT! Yeah! It’s only starting point after so much talking!!

The weather was pretty flicker on that day.. Drizzle then sunny then rain then sunny.. But good thing is, with the sun, this winter season ain’t that freezing (yet)!! And we saw RAINBOW almost after every rain. I can’t repeat myself enough.. I LOVE THE WEATHER!!!

Throughout the journey, we have been making a few stops, i.e. Port Campbell National Park, Loch Ard Gorge, Apollo Bay (our lunch venue if I didn’t remember wrongly)..

And at this particular park…..

TA_DAAAA! We saw KOALA! A sleeping koala though…

Don’t tell people you’ve been to Australia if u haven’t seen a koala! And here’s a sleeping koala! A koala spend about 20 hours a day doing nothing but sleep! And you can probably find a koala on eucalyptus tree after rain because koala consume eucalyptus together with rain drop on it to stay hydrated!

IMG_7938

Seeeee RAINBOW!!!!

That’s probably the last rainbow I saw before I fell asleep (again) while on the way to 12 Apostle!

*tick tock tick tock* (snoreeee~~)

Jiang-jiang!!!!!

Here we are !!!!!! After a loooong road trip!!   After so many stops!!

From our messy hair.. I’m sure you can tell the wind is really STRONG!!

It’s windy and cold here! However, with the sun, it ain’t as cold as I thought! Maybe because we came super prepared! We all have this stick on heat pack on our tummy and back!

IMG_8160

We were given about 40 mins (i think) at 12 Apostle before we head to Loch Ard Gorge..

Seriously, going down the stairs is easy but climbing back up … lack of oxygen (the best excuse I could think of other than telling myself I need exercise!!)!

I can’t remember where we head to after 12 Apostle but I know our awesome bus drop us at somewhere for dinner (own expense) before heading back to our apartment..

By the time we’re back to our apartment, it’s almost… 8pm?? And after everyone wash up, we went out again!!!

This time we’re going toooo……

LAUNDROMAT!

Yes, the mommies were excited about using laundry service provided at our apartment and insisted we wash something before we go Gold Coast! Else we might not get to wash our clothes there~

We ended our day around 1am on that day I guess.. Pretty tired but totally elated!!

Travelogue: Australia Melbourne (Day 2)

Read more about Australia Melbourne (Day 1) if you you haven’t!!

Yes due to “jet lag” we turned in pretty early the first night! It’s probably only 7pm in Singapore BUT WE WERE EXHAUSTED (yet excited at the same time)!!

For this trip, we did not arrange any jam packed schedule to follow. Instead, we planned to just visit one location each day. Any extra time will be consider as bonus! So Day 2, Sunday, we planned to spend our time at Queen Victoria Market – Just at our doorstep!!! We heard that it’s a really BIG market and they close at 4pm on Sunday (2pm on weekdays), better be safe than sorry, we decided to just settle our day at QVM!

Check out the morning QVM look!! Sky always looks more beautiful when you’re overseas!

It was pretty early when we went down to QVM to start our day, about 7am Australia timezone.. Most of the shops/stalls were still setting up!

The whole QVM is being catergorised into sections.. They have fruits & vegetables, dairy, deli, meat & fish & even a food court!

IMG_7473

Side note: You HAVE TO try The Mussle Pot when you’re here!! It’s too heavenly and you’ll hate to missed it!

IMG_7475

Since most shops are still setting up, we went to look for breakfast! With a clueless mind, we walk around and found ourselves in the Deli Hall! Wow… First impression? CLEAN & BIG!!

I wouldn’t say the food is cheap but portion is big so that covers the cost! Most importantly, most of the food we bought taste good!

Baguette/Croissant we bought at the deli were cold, not sure if it’s due to winter (food get cold easily) or they just serve it cold?? The adults weren’t very used to it but youngsters like US.. TOTALY COOL about it. As for the hot comfort food, is really good!!

We did not do a lot of cafe hopping but we never miss a chance to try their coffee whenever we have the chance! I can’t remember this cafe’s name though but it was our first coffee stop and even my mom (non-coffee drinker) likes it! Let me check with my cousin and keep you guys posted again!!

We spent quality time looking around for food!!! So glad we (actually more like our parents) were adventurous enough to try a bit of everything and by the time we were done with our breakfast, most shops are already open!

Seriously, look at the meat & fish market! it’s soooo clean!! It doesn’t even stink!

IMG_7543IMG_7769On this day, I seriously feel I’m getting old!! I actually enjoy going to the market!! It’s big, it’s clean, the people are all so friendly and I GET TO EAT MY OYSTER AT ONLY $15.00 PER DOZEN & ABALONE AT $7.99!! \( ^ _ ^ )/

Side note: when you see price that’s “.99” don’t expect them to give you a 1 cent change. It’s usually being round up. *ie: 7.99 is as good as 8.00.. So don’t go flare around saying they cheat your 1 cent… *palmface*

 IMG_7569

Seee my half dozen oysters!! It was too early for 1 dozen hence we only grabbed half to warm up our stomach first.. 🙂 I’m glad we did!!!

Previously I read some review saying there are no tabasco sauce/lemon given for oyster.. You need to buy lemon from them at (maybe) 10/20 cents per piece (lemon slice also wanna charge.. like … *speechless*)

Now here’s the latest update as of Jul 2015: Lemons are given to you FOC! As for tabasco sauce, I only see one particular stall has it on its shelf for you to help yourself (no charge too!)..

IMG_7460

We even went to the fruits and vegetables market after that to grab some garnish (chili padi/spring onions) so that we can prepare our food later (we haven’t really decide to do lunch or dinner)!

So when we were back to our apartment, we decided JUST DO IT! COOK OUR LUNCH!! And as you can see.. It’s all SEAFOOD!!!

BTW, I actually prepared to spend A$85 on each lobster but it’s only A$19.99! Probably a different type thus cheaper! Hahaha!

And how much did we spend on food on the table?

Lobster  – 19.99 each (2)

Oyster – 15.00 per dozen (1)

Abalone – 7.99 each (3)

Scallop –  15.00 per dozen (1)

Mixed seafood – 12.50 (500g)?? can’t really remember this..

White Wine Mussels – 10? or 12?? (From The Mussel Pot – only available on Sun, not sure about Saturday)

Noodles/salt/pepper – bought from convenient store (can’t remember how much)

Fruits/vegetable – less than $20 (watermelon/mango/strawberries/chilli/spring onion)

Total: Less than $150 for a good spread of seafood lunch!!

Thanks to our “in-house” chef! We get to eat these home-cook seafood lunch!

And of course thankfully Pegasus apartment provide pots and utensils for us to cook..!

And ta-daaaa ~ table of (partial) good food!!

Fruits were kept in the fridge for evening consumption! Chilled fruit platter!

IMG_7777 IMG_7759

And don’t say I no tell you.. QVM has different stall on weekends and weekday!

Shops we see on Sunday were not there anymore on Tuesday.. (yes we went back on Tuesday!)

So after we enjoyed our afternoon feast, we rested a while and decided to check out Chinatown on this day since we still have time! Shops in Chinatown closed at a much later time (mostly 10pm) so pretty safe to hang around still.

IMG_7773

A pcs of advice,if you have plan to check out Chinatown, give up. It’s just a street and nothing too interesting. We didn’t even take much picture except when we stop for dessert before heading of to the next destination~

You can imagine, it’s already afternoon when we head to Chinatown and how we still have time to go another place? Indeed we didn’t spend too much time there!

SOUTH WHARF~ where Crowne Casino is located!

My friend recommended this place to use because it has beautiful city skyline!

Pardon my shooting skill but I think the evening view is nicer – which you will get to see it later..!

You know, I can’t emphasize this more.. People in Melbourne are super duper friendly! Whenever people see us taking a wefie/groupie, 9 outta 10 will offer to help us take a decent photo!!!  HOW SWEET!!!

In this pic, behind us (on the left) is where DFO is! Recommended factory outlet mall to go if you want shopping!! And Crowne Casino is in the direction where we are looking (don’t worry, you’ll get to see it later)..

It’s about 5pm when we were there, many people are walking out from the mall with BIG bags small bags many bags!! Although we were hesitating if we should still continue ahead (mall close at 6pm), our leg just could stop walking towards the mall..

IMG_7774

I had to share this because I want to show you how COLD IT WAS plus it’s drizzling !!! Our cheeks were almost numb and we had to do A-I-U-E-O to exercise them!! How dumb but we love it!!

( I have no idea why mama pose this way???)

So back track a bit.. The direction we looking at in the earlier photo .. Ta-daaa~ Crowne Casino!

-shopping in progress- (Okie, we didn’t really buy many things in DFO because we were not in need of them.. we were plainly there to get some warmth and see what they have~)

Probably 5-10 mins pass 6pm, we left the mall AND LOOK AT THE SKY!!! Can you see the stars? LOL!! I think this was probably the best picture I took throughout the holiday!!

Although it’s not even 7pm in Melbourne but we were all kinda tired already.. Thinking that it’s only 5pm in Singapore and we wanna go home~ OLD FOLKS!! hahaha!

So to end out day, we went to this Korea fried chicken restaurant to have our dinner! It wasn’t the best Korean food I tried but it was pretty much a comfort food as the night was COLD~ (Probably the second coldest night)

IMG_7775Remember we had fruits in the fridge? We shall save it for next day since we need to rest early for the most anticipated itinerary!!

Travelogue: Australia Melbourne (Day 1)

I haven’t been doing lotsa shopping recently because my pocket had burnt a big hole from my recent Australia vacation!! Hence today’s post will not be about product review but about my AWESOME VACATION!

*Turn back time*

Somewhere around April, I was chatting with my mom and we randomly suggested going on a vacation – to somewhere we haven been before.. Vietnam..? Shanghai..? Australia..? What.. wait? Australia sounds good…!  Winter soon and the weather is going to be so awesome! Without hesitation, we checked out airfare, accommodation and places of interest!! To make the trip merrier, we even jio-ed (asked) my cousin & aunt along – that’s how we come out with “四个女人一个梦” (4 woman and a dream) for our FB album! Dream is to visit Caucasian country!

So.. Trip booked! Accommodation booked! 1-day Tour booked! OH! But I haven’t mention to you where I’m going isn’t it? hahaha! We are going to Melbourne/Gold Coast!! Woohooo! Winter and beach!

*Fast forward*

Finally the day is here to catch our flight! It was a pretty rush day for my cousin & me! We need to be at the airport by 7pm but we were stuck at work until 4.30pm! But anyway we made it to the airport..

IMG_7236 We took a redeye flight from Singapore to Gold Coast.. I tell you, any flight more than 4 hours is really a pain in the a**! I couldn’t sleep well through out the journey and the only consolation was…. I got to see SUNRISE!!! Woohooo! It was beautiful I even woke my mom up!!!! IMG_7246And about another 2-3 hours… We saw BEACH!!! Wahhh getting excited (even when writing this post)!!! Look at the clear blue sea, or green?!!! Oh mannnn~~

IMG_7259 So we have arrived our 1st destination – Gold Coast! Nope, we are not staying here for now! We are taking a domestic flight to Melbourne from Gold Coast! We are spending our first part of the vacation in Melbourne!!IMG_7264

And now allow me to present to you….. Melbourne!!! Pardon the dirty window…

The weather looks cold isn’t it!!

After collecting our baggages, we headed to the taxi stand! At this point, I actually feel that Australia indeed is a very safe place! People are friendly, helpful and orderly!

The lady stationed at the taxi queue was really alert! Just a slight commotion (no arguement involve, just a state of confusion) from far end, she noticed and walked very quickly and cleared the doubt!!

So usually for 3-4 person with baggage, I suppose a maxi cab will be your only option for a more comfortable ride to your destination! They only have one kinda taxi (company) so don’t worry about hoping the wrong taxi or taxi not able to bring you to your destination (ie: Hong Kong’s Blue/Green/Red taxi). Taxi in Melbourne are all metered taxi hence no daylight robbery! SAFE!!

Again, I can’t emphasize this enough, Australia is a safe place seriously! People there are so helpful and friendly..! Okie, don’t drift to much… You can click on above image on the meter fare breakdown..

What makes the hotel in its best location?? Being near to Queen Victoria Market of course & its near town too!! It’s like QVM on your left and Town on your right!

We can see the whole QVM from our room! BIG AND GORGEOUS! Definitely a place to return again!

IMG_7338 IMG_7339

After exploring our room it’s almost 4pm in Melbourne!! Not that we spend half a day exploring but because we arrived Melbourne late hence by the time we reach Pegasus, it’s about 3pm already… Not much time left for shopping so we just walked arounf the neighbourhood to familiarized ourselves before we meet up with my long distance friend for DINNER!!

IMG_7356

Before we meet up, my friend had already told me we will be dining at this place that sells awesome Italian food! I must say Papa Gino’s indeed taste AWESOME!!! Although I am back in Singapore, I STILL MISS their pizza greatly!! Probably the best pizza I ever tried! FULL of ham and bacon on a thin crispy crust!!! Worth every single cents!!

IMG_7364 IMG_7365 IMG_7376

The only thing is that they do not accept reservation – but I’m not sure if it’s only because it’s weekend or they just don’t. Whichever the case, I think you should still come try Papa Gino’s!

IMG_7424 I can’t remember exactly what time we are done with our dinner (not too late perhaps) BUT I can remember it was a FREEZING NIGHT – the coldest night during our whole vacation!

…………BUT again, nothing can stop us for ICE CREAM dessert!!!!

Pidapipo is quite new along this street (sorry i can’t remember street name well but you can google it la~!), probably just 6 months old.. they serve gelato, yummy gelato! Many flavors too!

IMG_7382 Looking at the way the we dress (esp my aunt), I’m pretty sure your can tell it’s really freezing! Seeeee… NO HANDS can be found – too for for even a victory handsign!!

V(^__^)V

IMG_7390 A big thank you to my friend who brought us around & showed us the way the day we touch down! Although we did not had enough sleep but it was really an enjoyable night!

IMG_7421And here’s the last photo of the day~
